Advantages of the Beltomatic Dryers

1.  The best reason to buy Beltomatic over the competition is QUALITY.  Norris has been building dryers for 50 years and they are now in the 600's for frame numbers.  They recently took in frame number 13, refurbished it and resold it.  The dryer had to be at least 40 years old.  With just minimal routine maintenance these dryers will run for years.  The Beltomatic dryers will do everything that the other dryers will do and do it very simply without lots of interconnecting controls required due to the straight forward simplicity of the dryers.  The QUALITY is built in from the get go due to the workmanship and simple straight forward design.  See the attachments for comparison of two schematic cross sections.  Note the simplicity of the Beltomatic as compared to the competitors.

2. The Beltomatic dryers are completely assembled and run at the plant in Tippecanoe IN before being shipped to the customer.  When the customer receives the dryer all they have to do is unload it from the truck and place in the production line.  Hook up the power and gas and it is ready to go.  No special training required.  At start up the people at the Beltomatic plant can talk the operations people through the startup process over the phone, which is the way it usually happens.  Beltomatic personnel are available if the customer prefers.  With the competition the dryer arrives knocked down in parts and modules that have to be assembled.  A group of factory personnel come to the plant to assemble the dryer.  This usually takes several weeks of them living on expense accounts.  After the dryer is assembled there are a lot of balancing of air and heat flows that have to be accomplished prior to operation.  See the attachments for comparison of two schematic cross sections.  Note the simplicity of the Beltomatic as compared to the competitors.

3.   When the Beltomatic dryer is in operation the only controls that are needed is temperature setting, air velocity and conveyor speed.  These are controlled with the motor on the conveyor, the motors on the burner fan and exhaust fan and the burner gas setting.  The competitions controls are doubled with the air being circulated around a plenum on each side of the dryer.  Additionally, for uniform drying, these controls are further complicated by the need to balance the air and temperature side to side and from module to module.  The single exhaust fan for two air circulating streams makes the balancing of the air flows even harder.  There can possibly be a module every six to eight feet, that is a lot of components to control.  See the attachments for comparison of two schematic cross sections.  Note the simplicity of the Beltomatic as compared to the competitors.

4.      The routine maintenance of the Beltomatic is much easier because we only have one burner per dryer, one conveyor per dryer, two fans per dryer.  With the competition, in addition to the one conveyor per dryer, they have two burners, two air circulating fans and one exhaust fan per module.  There can easily be a module every six to eight feet.  The routine cleanup is much easier with the Beltomatic design that allows the access doors to open at the product carrying belt.  With the competition the doors open the width of the side air plenum away from the product carrying belt.  See the illustration below for comparison of schematic two cross sections.  Note the simplicity of the Beltomatic as compared to the competitors.
